About The Silo
The Silo is a private household budgeting and debt-payoff application. It brings a household's whole financial picture — accounts, credit cards, loans, investments, and property — into one place, and turns it into something you can act on: a debt payoff plan with a real end date, a forward-looking cash-flow outlook, and early warnings before an account runs dry.
It's built on a simple belief: your financial information should belong to you. No ads, no selling your data, no bank dictating what you get to see. Just a clear, honest view of where the money goes and how the debt ends.
What The Silo does
It keeps the whole picture. Every checking, savings, and cash account; every card, loan, and mortgage with its real APR, promo window, and minimum-payment formula; investment holdings with nightly prices and dividends; your home equity and other valuables. Households share their books by default, and any member can keep an account private to themselves.
It looks forward, not just back. Recurring bills and paychecks post themselves on schedule. Your habitual spending — coffee, gas, groceries — settles into honest three-month averages that feed the forecast. The upcoming view projects every payment from a month to ten years out, and if a bill would leave an account overdrawn, The Silo flags it and shows you every account's projected balance for that exact day — while there's still time to move money.
It gives the debt an end date. Choose avalanche (highest rate first) or snowball (smallest balance first), tell it what extra you can manage, and The Silo simulates the whole payoff month by month — respecting your real cash flow, anticipating promo-rate expirations, and rolling every freed-up payment into the next target. Considering a consolidation loan? Enter its terms and get the honest before-and-after: what it saves or costs, and how the end date moves.
It stays truthful. When your records and the bank drift apart, enter the real balance and The Silo books the difference — then lets you break it down into what it actually was, piece by piece, until it's fully explained. No mystery numbers, no hand-waving.
Who runs it
The Silo is built and operated by Fragment Labs. It is currently invite only while we grow it carefully with early households.
Fair pricing
The price you join at is locked in for as long as you keep your subscription — it can go down, but it will never go up on you. Households that share The Silo with a friend get a free month when that friend becomes a paying member. A Business plan adds small-business bookkeeping — flag business transactions and pull a clean profit-and-loss — alongside the household's books.
Your privacy & your data
Each household's books are private to that household; members share their own data and nothing else. We do not sell, rent, or share personal information, and we run no advertising. Card details are never stored on our servers — payments are handled on a PCI-compliant processor's hosted pages, and we keep only a card brand and last four digits for display. Sign-in is protected by two-factor authentication with recovery codes, and security events like password changes trigger a notice to your email.
How we use email
We send only transactional email, triggered by your own actions or your account's state — password resets you request, email verification, invitations, and security notices such as a password change or two-factor update. We send no marketing or bulk email and maintain no mailing lists. Bounces and complaints are handled automatically, and you can stop receiving mail entirely by closing your account.
